Individal Oral Analisis
1984 is a dystopian novella by George Orwell published in 1949, which follows the life of Winston Smith, a low ranking member of 'the Party', who is frustrated by the omnipresent eyes of the party, and its ominous ruler Big Brother. 'Big Brother' controls every aspect of people's lives.
The IOA is a crucial project required by the IB. We prepare ourselves for a year and a half for this event in which we choose a fragment from a book that was previously read and connect it to a social cause, writing a thesis and analyzing the fragment. Through our thesis. In the end, the teacher asks you questions to dive deeper into the analysis and to make you touch more points than the one you had already done. I chose a fragment of 1984, and my thesis revolved around how controlled the people in Oceania were by their own government and how that affected their identity.

This problem has affected our country tremendously over the years, but recently it has escalated by 120%. Femicides are a crime that consists of the murder of girls and women based only on their gender. Many factors contribute to this violent act, for example; that the security in our country is basically non-existent and that Machismo has been present in our history for many years, causing people not to take the degrading of women as a serious topic
This Art reflective project was very innovative as it requires a level of creativity you normally don't use in English class. We had to come up with the topic we wanted to write about and it had to be an impactful topic that meant something to us, and then we had to plan out a way to represent it with art. We created our own stencils, and our own designs, making them more unique. For me this made me think outside the box, and out of my comfort zone as I normally don't do artistic things that fall into the drawing and painting category. However, this innovative project helped push me to finish this and achieve a level of reflection I hadn't done regarding an artistic piece.

Weekly Thoughts
The weekly thoughts were no more than a written reflection for most of the class; however, it was way more than that for me. Every week I had the opportunity to write what I was passionate about the discussion we had beforehand in class and about how that would relate to my feelings each week. For the IB learner profile, I chose to be reflective. I chose to reflect on what I was feeling, what I had learned, the different opinions I heard, and how they connected to what we were living nowadays.
